El Territorio STEM Sabana Centro: informe de sistematización de la experiencia

Abstract

Los Territorios STEM emergen con el propósito de fortalecer los sistemas educativos locales y globales mediante un enfoque educativo centrado en STEM (Ciencia, Tecnología, Ingeniería y Matemáticas), promoviendo la colaboración de redes de trabajo que contribuyan a la educación de la comunidad. En ausencia de un sistema informativo que sistematice esta experiencia, este estudio busca sistematizar la creación y desarrollo del Territorio STEM Sabana Centro 2019-2023. La investigación adoptó un enfoque cualitativo y alcance descriptivo, siguiendo un plan de trabajo relacionado con las etapas del diseño de sistematización de experiencias. Entre los principales hallazgos se identificaron las características distintivas del Territorio STEM Sabana Centro, junto con los factores facilitadores y limitantes en su creación y consolidación. El territorio tiene como objetivo principal fomentar la participación activa y promover la ciencia y la tecnología en la región a través de programas de formación, la ejecución de proyectos y la organización de eventos dedicados a la divulgación científica. La esencia del Territorio STEM Sabana Centro radica en la colaboración y coordinación entre participantes locales, regionales e internacionales. En cuanto a los facilitadores, se destaca el respaldo de instituciones educativas, entidades gubernamentales y empresas privadas las cuales han sido factores clave en el éxito del Territorio STEM Sabana Centro. Así mismo, aunque se han establecido alianzas con diversas entidades y actores, se reconoce la oportunidad de mejorar la vinculación con el sector de políticas públicas.

STEM Territories emerge with the purpose of strengthening local and global education systems through an educational approach focused on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), promoting the collaboration of networks that contribute to the education of the community. In the absence of an information system that systematizes this experience, this study seeks to systematize the creation and development of the Sabana Centro STEM Territory 2019- 2023. The research adopted a qualitative approach and descriptive scope, following a work plan related to the stages of the design of systematization of experiences. Among the main findings, the distinctive characteristics of the Sabana Centro STEM Territory were identified, along with the facilitating and limiting factors in its creation and consolidation. The territory's main objective is to encourage active participation and promote science and technology in the region through training programs, the execution of projects and the organization of events dedicated to scientific dissemination. The essence of the Sabana Centro STEM Territory lies in the collaboration and coordination between local, regional and international participants. As for the facilitators, the support of educational institutions, government entities and private companies stands out, which have been key factors in the success of the Sabana Centro STEM Territory. Likewise, although alliances have been established with various entities and actors, the opportunity to improve the link with the public policy sector is recognized.
