In this research it is intended to investigate leadership as a strategy to complement and harmonize the study
plan of the Laachon Mayapo educational institution, linking the concept of leadership for life, as an axis of
training and as a response to the needs that are generated by the context of the population served by the
institution, in order to provide an innovative scenario that takes into account the conditions and ways of
acting of the students. This training route will allow each student to build self-confidence and strengthen
personal security, two essential aspects for their future development as citizens capable of positively
transforming their reality. The study has been developed from an exploratory-descriptive quantitative
research perspective, in which the data has been collected through a structured survey of 30 questions The
analysis results that are offered are in accordance with the chosen methodology, since they represent
meanings and look for the implementation of new training practices for teachers and students. The proposal
is a challenge that forces the school community to build educational alternatives and provides the student
population with a breath of inspiration that will serve as a tool to form their character, becoming aware of
their way of seeing the world around them and how they can interact in it, transforming it through leadership,
in its own sphere, from its own position; in other words, the relevance of leadership for the personal and
professional training of students is analyzed. In this sense, we are guided by the idea that “the organizational
redesign of the school requires that the principal create and maintain an adequate context to maximize
improvement efforts, while introducing new values, beliefs, ways of thinking and doing in school culture”
(Gurr, Drysdale, Mulford, 2018). The educational population has been investigated in order to understand
and interpret their needs, as well as their visions about school life and ideas about the future, and then we
take all this in order to promote, within institutional spaces, an alternative that help strengthen their chances
for personal and professional growth.
