dc.description.abstract | La presente investigación busca impulsar la actualización curricular del Gimnasio de los Cerros de Bogotá, a partir de la caracterización de necesidades percibidas por directivos, docentes, egresados y estudiantes del Diploma de Bachillerato Internacional en relación con la formación de habilidades para la vida asociado a la transición entre la educación media y superior. El estudio se realizó desde un enfoque mixto bajo un diseño de triangulación concurrente (DITRIAC). Para la recolección de la información se utilizó el instrumento Cuestionario de Habilidades para la vida. Además, se realizaron grupos focales con directivos, docentes y estudiantes de Diploma del Bachillerato Internacional. La muestra participante en el estudio para la aplicación del instrumente fue de 88 estudiantes de últimos grados de la institución (educación media) y 11 egresados, además de 4 directivos, 5 docentes y 10 estudiantes de décimo y undécimo grado que participaron en grupos focales. | es_CO |
dc.description.abstract | This research seeks to promote the curriculum updating of the Gimnasio de Los Cerros from
Bogotá, based on the characterization of the needs of administrative staff, teachers, graduates and students
of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program in relation to the formation of life skills
associated with the transition between high school and post-secondary education. The study was carried
out from a mixed approach from a concurrent triangulation design (DITRIAC). To collect the
information, the Life Skills Questionnaire instrument was used, and focus groups were also held with
staff, teachers, and IB Diploma Program students. The sample which took the Questionnaire was of 88
students form grades 10th and 11th and 11 alumni, in addition to 4 directors, 5 teachers and 10 students of
tenth and eleventh grade participated in focus groups.
The results of the research allow us to identify that the students surveyed through the Life Skills
Questionnaire which Cronbach’s α was of 0.721, indicate all 10 skills are ranked between High and
Middle scores being Interpersonal Relationships (6.5) and Management of Stress (6.5) the ones with
lower values. The data analysis performed on data from alumni (11 students graduated between 2019 and
2020) corroborates the result obtained with current students, given that the skill with the lower mean was
Management of Stress (6.4).
Additionally, from the analysis of the focus groups, convergences are found to a greater extent
on the need to include the development of life skills in the curriculum updating of the Los Cerros Scholl
as a protective factor in the transition of graduates to post-secondary education, the conversation spaces
also evidenced the resources that at the institutional level are available for the support of the students in
the advancement of their skills, the relevance of integrating the training of life skills in a transversal way
in the curriculum is also highlighted, having as support resources the teaching staff and the parents.
Considering the above, the proposal is designed: Personal Projection Program (P3
), which presents
individual training paths that will be developed in the classroom with the teacher's guidance, as well as
off-class training spaces, the program focuses on the development of social, emotional and cognitive
skills according to the developmental stage of the student. | en |
