Learning vocabulary plays an important role in learning a language and it is one of the most difficult aspects in that learning process. Currently, the use of information and communication technologies in education has allowed the creation of innovative learning environments that improve learning and adapt to the contemporary learner. This manuscript presents the results of a research on the influence of the use of a digital educational material called WordTrek on the learning of vocabulary in English. To this end, a case study research method was used in A2 level university students. The results show that the material increases students' motivation and interest in vocabulary learning, helps the development of vocabulary learning strategies and promotes collaborative work and autonomy. Although there is evidence of improvement in vocabulary learning, it is not possible to determine to what extent it was the result of using the material. Due to this fact, it can be concluded that vocabulary learning is a process which is affected by several factors and it requires the design of methodologies and materials that promote its constant practice.eng
