dc.description.abstract | Este proyecto de investigación se enfoca en medir el impacto de la implementación de un programa de lectura voluntaria en un ambiente virtual en el uso activo del vocabulario, retención inmediata de vocabulario, autodirección y hábitos de lectura en estudiantes de dos universidades colombianas, usando la instrucción de estrategias incidentales e intencionales de aprendizaje de vocabulario. Los participantes del primer contexto fueron 17 estudiantes quienes estaban tomando la segunda de siete materias de inglés general con propósitos de graduación. En la segunda institución, un grupo de 11 estudiantes participaron en el proyecto; ellos cursaban el primero de 3 niveles de comprensión de lectura requeridos para su graduación. Todos los estudiantes de las dos universidades están clasificados en el nivel A1 de acuerdo al Marco Común Europeo de referencia para los idiomas y sus edades oscilan entre los 16-21. Anterior a la implementación, la mayoría de los estudiantes de las dos universidades expresaron una actitud reluctante hacia la lectura debido a su deficiencia en vocabulario y al acceso limitado a materiales en la lengua meta que fueran de su interés. Los resultados revelaron que el estudio fue exitoso moderadamente para mejorar la retención de vocabulario y significativamente efectivo para promover la autodirección y los hábitos de lectura de los estudiantes. | es_CO |
