dc.description.abstractEn los últimos años, se han evidenciado problemas en el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje de la neuroanatomía. De una parte, el tema ha venido perdiendo espacio en los currículos a nivel mundial; adicionalmente, la neurología es percibida por muchos profesionales de la salud como un tema complejo y difícil, el cual presenta un reto importante en el momento de enfrentarse a pacientes con condiciones neurológicas. En la Universidad de la Sabana, el módulo de Neurología viene presentando altos porcentajes de pérdida académica. Esto ha llevado a buscar nuevas estrategias de enseñanza de la materia., una nueva estrategia como la enseñanza abierta a través de la del aprendizaje basado en problemas puede abrir una puerta para solucionar esas dificultades, gracias a las virtudes del aprendizaje colaborativo. El presente trabajo es un ejemplo de esa estrategia: se trató de un estudio de caso, llevado a cabo usando metodología cualitativa a través de entrevistas, cuestionarios y análisis de documentos y videos, cuyo objetivo fue determinar las ventajas y desventajas de una estrategia de enseñanza abierta a través de aprendizaje basado en problemas en el módulo de Neurología de los estudiantes de segundo semestre de la Universidad de la Sabana. Los resultados mostraron que la estrategia efectivamente fomentó el aprendizaje colaborativo, los convirtió en partícipes activos en su proceso de formación, los motivó a buscar nuevas fuentes de información. Aunque la experiencia evidenció mejor comprensión de los tópicos cubiertos en el módulo, resulta importante establecer el impacto a largo plazo que este tipo de estrategias pueda tener.es_CO
