dc.description.abstractEste estudio buscó identificar los significados atribuidos por los estudiantes de un centro educativo del sur de Bogotá a las peleas que ocurren a las afueras. Donde participaron 25 estudiantes entre los 10 a 18 años de los grados sexto a noveno y el coordinador de disciplina. Se llevó a cabo un estudio cualitativo a partir de los postulados de la teoría fundamentada. Para recopilar la información se usó entrevistas en profundidad y grupos focales. Se identificaron algunas características particulares de las peleas como sus actores, normas y reglas que las rigen, formas de pelear y contextos en los cuales ocurren. Los resultados permitieron identificar los principales significados relacionados con las peleas los cuales tienen que ver con la popularidad, la idea de responder ante amenazas, el aprendizaje de peleas por presión de grupo y la reacción emocional. Se concluye que los contextos ecológicos permiten comprender el surgimiento de dichos significados y por tanto, la dinámica de las peleas entre los jóvenes fuera del colegio.
