dc.description.abstractEn Colombia, así como en otros contextos a nivel mundial, los docentes cuestionan el por qué la gente joven no lee. Las razones por una parte, obedecen a la falta de interés, dificultades de lectura, así como a la falta de entrenamiento eficiente para leer textos en la lengua materna/extranjera. Actualmente, el mundo académico universitario del siglo 21 requiere que los estudiantes ejerciten habilidades de pensamiento crítico para poder acceder a producir conocimiento de manera efectiva. Teniendo en cuenta que las habilidades de pensamiento crítico se conciben como imprescindibles para poder interpretar textos y desarrollar actividades analíticas y complejas, es preciso que las instituciones de educación básica y media estructuren su currículo para poder satisfacer estas necesidades. El presente estudio presenta alternativas para apoyar a estudiantes de grado undécimo en un colegio de Colombia, para que puedan aprender y aplicar estrategias de pensamiento crítico cognitivo a través de una serie de tareas en la clase de literatura Inglesa.es_CO
