General aspects

Intellectum is the institutional repository of La Sabana university, is structured by certain policies of open access for information. Within their objectives they are conserve, preserve and broadcast the scientific and investigative production of La Sabana university.

The initiative for these auto file arises as an alternative to facilitate the disposition of academic and scientific literature, and also virtual learning tools for investigators, collaborators and professors of La Sabana university with the purpose to increase the impact and usability in a virtual academic environment.

Intellectum is organized by documental areas known as communities and sub communities that are sub divided as well by collections that facilitate the final disposition of documents. It has general and specific search fields that allows to recuperate information in all the communities or in a specific collection.

With the auto file process, it aims to allow the authors to send remote uploads to intellectum, avoiding displacements and minimizing the publication process of academic and scientific documents.

Guidelines

  1. The auto file process is authorized exclusively for the community of La Sabana members or external duly authorized by the institution.
  2. It must be realized through intellectum´s web site, using the “auto file” link specifically located in the navigation menu
  3. By accepting the auto file´s terms and conditions, the author(s) manifest:
    • Be the holder(s) of the copyright of the file content send to the repository.
    • Be aware that the academic documents will be managed under open access beginnings for information to impact as much people as possible.
    • Have present that the production disposed in intellectum, can and will be disclosed worldwide through allied institutions with La Sabana university.
    • Review the scientific document publication policies of different information sources as indexed journals and specialized data bases to not infringe disclosure agreements previously accepted.

  4. The author(s) must download, fill up and attach the publication authorization to the scientific document sent to the repository. This must be signed by hand.
  5. It´s indispensable the academic program director´s aprovement for the document published in the repository, with it´s sign in the publication authorization application form.
  6. The author must fill up all the information fields in the auto file´s link, this process facilitates the resource bibliographic cataloging and allows to know the main information the author wants to release of the work.
  7. There is no sending limits of works for the authors.
  8. Once integrated the resource to Intellectum. The Library Octavio Arizmendi Posada can give fisical and digital constancy of resource sent to the institutional repository by the authors.
  9. The information of any character revealed through the documents published in Intellectum, is responsibility and property of the author(s). The library octavio arizmendi pozada and / or La sabana university don’t take responsibility of any damage to arise because of the document publication throough the institutional repository.
  10. Intellectum don’t take responsibility of contents, commentaries, appointaments refering any source and / or natural or legal person revealed in the published documents.
  11. Documents published in Intellectum will be published indefinitely and prompted by the use of mechanism of conservation. For this it will use the technology migration of the formats and original document programms. It will take into account the times described in the Application form for documents by the authors for the respective publication.
  12. The publication authorization does not generate any economic benefit for the author(s) or La Sabana university, either any contractual connecting or labor link between the parts.
  13. Intellectum can index preserved documents in repositories indices information media or regional, national or international search engines, with the purpose to offer more visibility and use of the academic resources.
