dc.description.abstractIt is a priority to build theories that allow to explain and describe the phenomena of interest to any discipline, however, theorizing supposes an effort for the researcher, due to the complexity of the methods and the constant need for renewal in the research phenomena. The Grounded Theory is a qualitative research method which allows generating theoretical approaches that can be used to strengthen the conceptual basis of professional disciplines such as Nursing. This article describes strategies for collecting information in qualitative research, organizing the data to facilitate the researcher’s understanding of the process the participant has experienced, and then, through an example, explains how, using the words of the participant or living codes, the analysis of the data is carried out with the coding proposal of Strauss, A. and Corbin, J, until arriving at the construction of the theory based on the data. © 2024 Alejandra Fuentes-Ramírez.en
