Abstract

Surgical education in Colombia is undergoing an accelerated transformation, however, the documentation of this educational transformation in the country is limited. This study presents a chronological review of teaching in the Department of Surgery of the institution. The review focuses on the strategies and milestones achieved in undergraduate level, after transforming the traditional teaching model of the early 21st century. The review is based on the synthesis of a series of original studies, which offer evidence on the interventions conducted in the department, and on their results.
