dc.description.abstractLa expresión emocional se define como un comportamiento perceptible verbal y no verbal que comunica un estado afectivo interno (Riviello y Esposito, 2016), en ese sentido la danza es definida por Quiroga, Kreutz, Clift, y Bongard (2010) como una actividad humana global basada en la coordinación de movimientos voluntarios, sincronizados con estímulos externos como la música, usada como una técnica de proyección emocional ante la sociedad (Behera & Rangaiah 2014). Ahora bien, el propósito principal de esta investigación es determinar si existen diferencias en la expresión emocional, entre mujeres practicantes de danza oriental y mujeres no practicantes de danza oriental ni de otra actividad artística, para ello, la investigación se llevó a cabo mediante la metodología cuantitativa de tipo no experimental, descriptivo comparativo correlacional en la que se compararon dos grupos, el primero de ellos conformado por mujeres practicantes de danza oriental de Bogotá con edades entre los 20 y 40 años y por otro lado un grupo con mujeres con las mismas características demográficas con la condición de que no practican danza oriental ni otra actividad artística. Los resultados muestran que no existen diferencias significativas con respecto a la expresión emocional en mujeres que practican danza oriental y mujeres que no practican ninguna actividad artística.es_CO
