dc.description.abstractRevisión de la literatura de ensayos clínicos aleatorizados, cuyo objetivo fue medir el efecto de la práctica de actividad física sobre la capacidad atencional en niños y adolescentes. La búsqueda se efectuó en las bases de datos MEDLINE, PUBMED, SCIENCE DIRECT, WEB OF KNOWLEDGE, OVID y CLINICALKEY. Se determinaron como términos primarios de búsqueda “Exercise”, “Attention”, “Children” y “Adolescent” y términos asociados “Physical Activity”, “Arousal”, “Focus”, “Kids”. Los criterios de inclusión fueron: ensayos clínicos cuyo foco de investigación fuera el efecto de la actividad física sobre la función atencional en niños y adolescentes publicados en idioma inglés, español y portugués. La búsqueda inicial arrojó 4969 artículos, posterior a la lectura de los abstract 51 documentos fueron preseleccionados excluyendo 28 artículos por ausencia de texto completo, cumplieron los criterios de inclusión 23 artículos. Se excluyeron 12 artículos que tuvieron una calificación inferior a 3 según la escala de Jadad estableciendo como muestra del estudio 11 artículos.es_CO
