dc.description.abstractEste artículo investiga los efectos de seis principales tasas de cambio nominales y reales en la llegada de turistas residentes en el exterior a Colombia por motivo de vacaciones, recreación y ocio para el periodo 2012 a enero de 2018 a través de un modelo VAR. Los resultados indican que la mayoría de las tasas de cambio nominal son significativas y algunas pueden pronosticar el comportamiento de la llegada de turistas, en cambio, gran parte de las tasas de cambio real estudiadas muestran ser significativas y tienen un impacto marginal o casi nulo en la llegada de turistas. Los efectos encontrados son acordes con algunos autores y a su vez difieren con otros hallazgos académicos. Con base en la literatura académica se ratifica que la relación entre tasa de cambio y turismo receptivo es diferente para cada caso, por lo que sus resultados no se pueden generalizar y por consiguiente este artículo presenta un resultado específico para Colombia.es_CO
