dc.description.abstractEl impacto que genera una Lesión Medular (LM) tiene gran afectación en lás áreas personal, familiar, económico y social de las personas. Los síntomas depresivos y ansiosos deben ser tratados para lograr la aceptación y adaptación a la nueva condición en muchos casos. Los datos epidemiológicos de esta patología afectan de 250 mil a 500 mil personas al año, debido a diferentes causas donde prima el traumatismo por accidente de tránsito, caídas, violencia e incluso factores estresantes que activan enfermedades autoinmunes. La presente, es una investigación descriptiva de tipo correlacional, en la cual se sometieron 20 pacientes con edades entre 20 y 57 años a pruebas neuropsicológicas para hallar la relación entre las funciones ejecutivas y la cognición social en la resiliencia en pacientes con lesión medular. Los resultados demostraron que tanto las Funciones Ejecutivas como la Cognición Social tienen influencia sobre la respuesta de resiliencia en este tipo de población ya que estos tres procesos principales presentan un efecto encadenado, donde al verse afectado uno de ellos, repercute en el funcionamiento de los demás.es_CO
