dc.description.abstractVivir con el Virus de la Inmunodeficiencia Humana VIH/SIDA, es una situación en la que interviene no solo la salud física, sino la salud mental y una serie de factores psicosociales que afectan constantemente la estabilidad emocional y la dimensión psicológica del individuo que padece esta dura enfermedad. Por esta razón, en este artículo revisa teóricamente el uso de las diferentes estrategias de afrontamiento y la relación de estos con el curso de la enfermedad. Se revisan las estrategias activas y pasivas, para encontrar las mas adecuadas y convenientes para el bienestar y la calidad de vida de este tipo de pacientes, resaltando la importancia del control que el individuo sienta sobre su enfermedad y el acompañamiento psicológico.es_CO
