dc.description.abstractAunque los hombres homosexuales han experimentado la muerte e sus parejas desde antes del auge del VIH y la epidemia del SIDA, estos, han incrementado la atención a el dilema de la viudez homosexual. El objeto del presente trabajo fue describir los factores relevantes a los viudos homosexuales, y la manera en la que el apoyo social es básico para que ellos resuelvan el duelo de manera funcional. Se encontró que la falta de reconocimiento de las parejas homosexuales en general y del estatus de un hombre homosexual como un viudo, complica el proceso del duelo. En conclusión, se encontró que los hombres homosexuales, cuyas parejas han muerto se SIDA exhiben una agrupación de síntomas clásicos manifestados por supervivientes de otros eventos traumáticos.es_CO
