dc.description.abstract	La ELA es una enfermedad de baja prevalencia si la comparamos con patologías neurológicas habituales como la cefalea o la enfermedad cerebrovascular, pero la afectación funcional que llega a generar es devastadora en un mediano tiempo, por lo infrecuente de esta entidad nosológica es que se retrasa su diagnóstico y desde ese momento empieza el sufrimiento del paciente, pero considero que el equipo médico sufre también al no tener habitualmente las herramientas necesarias para las intervenciones que este tipo de pacientes amerita junto a un sistema de salud que tampoco está preparado y que fácilmente pueden convertirse en agravantes de ese sufrimiento del enfermo. Esta monografía busca desde una perspectiva de bioética personalista ilustrar al personal de salud en especial neurólogos sobre el conocimiento actual y las oportunidades de intervención para con estos pacientes a fin que les ofrezcamos verdaderas soluciones a sus quejas y seamos buenos concejeros en los conflictos que esta patología genera.	es_CO
