dc.description.abstractLa depresión postparto (DPP), es un problema de salud bastante común después del parto, que se caracteriza por presentar diversos síntomas, los cuales deben clasificarse según tiempo de aparición y evolución, por lo cual, el Manual Diagnóstico y Estadístico de los Trastornos Mentales (DSM-IV) indica que los síntomas de la depresión postparto deben comenzar dentro de un plazo de cuatro semanas a partir de la fecha del parto, con una duración mínima de dos semanas causando un deterioro clínicamente significativo en el funcionamiento diario de la madre.
