Protocolo de cuidado de enfermería para la prevención, identificación y tratamiento del delirium en pacientes pediátricos de 6 meses a 5 años de edad críticamente enfermos en un hospital de cuarto nivel de Bogotá

Abstract

El actual proyecto busca estandarizar y orientar a los profesionales de salud que intervienen en el cuidado de los niños críticamente enfermos comprendidos entre los 6 meses y 5 años de edad, de la Fundación Santa Fe de Bogotá en cuanto a la identificación, manejo y prevención del delirium en paciente pediátrico, debido a que la institución cuenta con una de las mejores unidades de atención en estos pacientes y es de vital importancia establecer un modelo estandarizado con respecto al delirium, una patología que puede llegar a ser mortal, pero lo más importante, que es prevenible. La importancia de este abordaje se deriva de la incidencia en cuanto a los estímulos diarios, factores desencadenantes y factores de riesgo a los que esta población se encuentra expuestos día a día para el desarrollo de delirium.

The current project seeks to standardize and guide health professionals involve in the care of critically ill children between 6 months and 5 years of age, of the Fundación Santa Fe de Bogotá in terms of prevention, identification and management of delirium, the institution has one of the best care units for pediatric patients it is vitally important to stablish a standard model for delirium, a pathology that can be fatal, but most importantly that is preventable. The importance of this approach stems from the incidence in terms of daily stimulation, triggers and risk factors to which this population is exposed every day for the development of delirium. The construction of the current standard was carried out through a systematic review of scientific articles, which gives it professional validity, the main objective is to create a nursing care protocol for the identification, management and prevention of delirium in children for 6 months to 5 years of age critically ill; For this, it is important to identify knowledge before and after the socialization of the protocol in order to guide and standardize actions of health personnel for the identification and safe management of patients at risk or suffering from delirium within the institution Fundación Santa Fe de Bogotá, according to the consensus and evaluation of experts on the topic addressed.
