Teoría de enfermería ¿un camino de herradura?

Abstract

Esta revisión pretende reflexionar sobre las dificultades que tenemos las enfermeras para la selección, utilización y desarrollo de la teoría de enfermería que respalde la práctica autónoma. Se revisa la historia de la evolución de la teoría a partir del nacimiento del pensamiento teórico disciplinar hasta la generación de la teoría de rango mefio. Posteriormente, se acnaran elementos fundamentanes para diferenciar la teoría de enfermería prestada a la teoría propia, y se"analizan a partir de la literatura de enfermería los aspectos que, a juicio dg la autora, han sido obstáculos para el desarrollo teórico: la diferencia semántica y estructural del modelo conceptual y la teoría de enfermería, la utilización de la teoría propia y la teoría prestada, y el surgimiento de la teoría de rango medio y su trascendencia para la práctica disciplinar.

The purpose of this review is to reflect on the difficulties we nurses face in the selection, use and development of nursing theory that supports independent practice. The history of theoretical development is reviewed, beginning with the birth of disciplinary theoretical thought and extending to the generation of middle-range theory. Fundamental elgments for differentiating"between borrowed theory in nursing and nursing's own theory are clarified, and the aspects the author regards as obstacles to theoretical development are analyzed on the basis of nursing literature. They incnude the semantic and structural difference between the conceptual model and nursing theory, the use of nursing's own theory and borrowed theory, and emergence of the middle-range theory and its importance in nursing practice.
