%X Species from the genus Kocuria are strictly aerobic, catalase-positive, coagulase-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. This article deals with the case of a 71-year-old patient with severe community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) caused by Kocuria rosea. An exhaustive search of the available medical literature revealed no previous reports regarding pneumonia caused by K. rosea. © 2019 Páez et al.
