%X Las lesiones de piel se consideran, a nivel mundial, un reto para la atención en salud. Su prevalencia e incidencia afectan los indicadores de calidad, lo que genera un impacto negativo en la salud y recuperación del sujeto de cuidado afectado (además de un aumento de los costos hospitalarios para el manejo de las mismas) por lo cual es importante contar con personal de enfermería altamente calificado en la prevención, manejo y rehabilitación de lesiones de piel para poder brindar no solo un manejo oportuno y adecuado a cada lesión, sino prevenir la aparición de estas, evitando una estancia hospitalaria prolongada y un mal uso de insumos para el tratamiento de heridas. Dado esto, se pretende establecer una estrategia de enfermería de capacitación a un grupo (definido por el departamento de enfermería en una institución de tercer nivel en Bogotá, en cuanto a la prevención y manejo de las lesiones de piel de los pacientes hospitalizados en la institución; además de generar un material educativo para los familiares de los pacientes que están en riesgo de generar lesiones de piel o que ya presentan lesiones y están siendo manejadas. Esto aumenta la capacidad de respuesta del personal de enfermería ante el daño tisular en los pacientes, ayuda a disminuir el riesgo de infección, las estancias hospitalarias prolongadas y el aumento de costos por el mal manejo de insumos; lo que generará mayor satisfacción en los pacientes y sus familiares, aumentando los estándares de calidad.
%X Skin lesions are considered a challenge for health care worldwide, their prevalence and 
incidence affect quality indicators. This generates a negative impact on the health and recovery of 
the affected care subject. in addition to an increase in hospital costs for their management, which 
is why it is important to have highly qualified nursing staff in the prevention, management and 
rehabilitation of skin lesions in order to provide not only timely and adequate management of each 
injury, but also to prevent the appearance of the same. And, therefore, avoiding a prolonged hospital 
stay and a misuse of supplies for the treatment of wounds.
Because of that it is intended to train a group defined by the nursing department of a tertiary 
institution in Bogotá, in terms of the prevention and management of skin lesions in patients 
hospitalized in the institution. On top of that, generate educational material for relatives of patients 
who are at risk of get skin lesions or who already have lesions and are being treated, increasing the 
response capacity of nursing staff to tissue damage in patients. This helps to reduce infection risk, 
prolonged hospital stays and increased costs due to poor management of supplies generating greater 
satisfaction for patients and their families, increasing quality standards.
