%X La presente investigación de enfoque cualitativo nació de la necesidad de atender de mejor manera a los estudiantes de la básica primaria del Centro Etnoeducativo N°1 pertenecientes a la etnia Wayuu en el Distrito Turístico y Cultural de Riohacha La Guajira. Desde la coordinación académica se han analizado los aprendizajes de los estudiantes y los resultados de las prueban internas y externas las cuales no son satisfactorias en especial las relacionadas con la competencia de lectura y escritura. En este sentido, el aprendizaje del español como segunda lengua requiere de estrategias que permitan la integración de los actores de la comunidad educativa para que desde sus aportes culturales permitan fortalecer los aprendizajes. En los resultados es posible evidenciar la relevancia que tiene la participación de las autoridades tradicionales, los sabedores culturales, los docentes y el personal administrativo en los procesos etnoeducativos en el establecimiento educativo en aras de educar en contextos indígenas.
%X This research with a qualitative approach was born from the need to better serve elementary 
school students of the Ethnoeducational Center N ° 1 belonging to the Wayuu ethnic group in the 
Tourist and Cultural District of Riohacha La Guajira.
The academic coordination has analyzed the learning of the students and the results of the 
internal and external tests are not satisfactory.
The learning of Spanish as a second language requires strategies that allow the integration 
of the actors of the educational community so that from their cultural contributions they allow to 
strengthen learning.
In the result,s it is possible to demonstrate the relevance of the participation of traditional 
authorities, cultural experts, teachers and administrative personnel in the ethno-educational 
processes in the educational establishment in order to educate in indigenous contexts.
