abstract = {La presente investigación tiene como objetivo identificar las percepciones de cuidado y autocuidado del cuidador principal y el adulto mayor desde su integralidad, para lo cual, se analiza el concepto de cuidado y autocuidado que tiene cada uno y se describen las prácticas y experiencias que tienen los cuidadores frente a su autocuidado integral, preservando su proyecto de vida personal y familiar a su vez que ejercen este rol. Se trata de un estudio de tipo cualitativo con enfoque de teoría fundamentada, basado en el paradigma hermenéutico-interpretativo, que permite el acercamiento a la realidad y el objeto de estudio para interpretar los datos desde un método descriptivo (Barrero, Bohórquez & Mejía, 2011). La población elegida según muestreo probabilístico por conveniencia corresponde a 6 familias con adulto mayor de 65 años, miembro de su familia, dependiente de su cuidador las 24 horas del día; el cuidador principal no recibe ningún tipo de remuneración. El análisis de la problemática planteada se realiza a partir de la implementación de entrevista semi estructurada aplicada al cuidador principal y al adulto mayor, según la matriz con las categorías Cuidado y Autocuidado a través de preguntas orientadas a Conceptos y Dimensiones del ser: Biológica -el cuerpo-, Psicológica y Racional -lo inmaterial, inteligencia y voluntad- Social y Trascendente – la dimensión espiritual- (Sellés, 2010).},
abstract = {This research has the objective to identify the perceptions of main caregiver and senior citizen 
care and self-care since their entirety, for which the care and self-care concepts that caregiver 
and senior citizen have, are analyzed, and the customs and experiences that careers have in 
relation to their integral self-care, in order to preserve their personal and familiar project at the 
same time that play the caregiver role.
The study is qualitative with focus on grounded theory, based on hermeneutic interpretive 
paradigm that allows an approach to the reality and the study object, in order to interpret the 
information since a descriptive method (Barrero, Bohórquez & Mejía, 2011). The chosen 
population, according to the convenience sampling, corresponds to six families with adults aged 
65 and over, members of their families, dependent on their caregivers the 24 hours a day; main caregiver does not receive any type of remuneration. The analyze of this problem is made from 
the implementation of a semi structured interview applied to the main caregiver and the senior 
citizen, according to the matrix with the categories Care and Self-care, through oriented 
questions to Concepts and Dimensions of Human Being: Biological – the body, Psychological 
and Rational –Inmaterial, Intelligence and Will- Social and Transcendent- Spiritual.},
