%X This   study   aims   to  consider     whether     it  is  possible    to  speak   of  the  common good within    the  parameters of  the  State;   in  other   words,    whether     the  State   and   the common good   are  even   compatible. The   starting    hypothesis is  one   of  incom-patibility. We  will   begin   by  approaching the  original    meaning of  the  common good,   which    has  its  roots   in  classical     and   medieval traditions. Although nume-rous   authors    have   adopted     this   approach, in  our  case,   it  is  a  matter    of  pointing out  precisely those   features     of  the  classical     common good   that   will   contrast     to a  greater    extent    with   the  theorization of  the  State.   Therefore, this   paper    priori-tizes   primary     sources.     Secondly, to  tackle    the  subject    matter    of  this   work,    we will   examine     the  radical    changes     in  the  anthropological and   economic-social assumptions that   are  contemporary to  the  theorization and   emergence of  the State   and   relevant     to  understand why   it  makes    no  sense   to  speak    of  the  com-mon good in the framework of the State.
%X El objeto del presente estudio es considerar si es posible hablar de bien común dentro de los parámetros del Estado. Dicho de otra forma, si Estado y bien común son siquiera compatibles. La hipótesis de partida es la incompatibilidad. Para ello, se hará una aproximación al sentido originario del bien común, que toma sus raíces de la tradición clásica y medieval. Aunque esta aproximación ha sido llevada a cabo por numerosos autores, en este caso se trata de señalar precisamente aquellos rasgos del bien común clásico que van a contrastar en mayor medida con la teorización del Estado. Por ello, en esta exposición se prioriza el acceso a fuentes primarias . En un segundo momento, y de cara a afrontar el objeto mencionado en este trabajo, se consideran los cambios radicales en los presupuestos antropológicos y económico-sociales que son contemporáneos a la teorización y aparición del Estado, y que son relevantes para comprender por qué carece de sentido hablar de bien común en el marco del Estado.
