%X The purpose of this project is to implement a care strategy that contributes to modulate the uncertainty of parents of children hospitalized in the pediatric intensive care unit in a tertiary institution in the city of Bogotá through the design of an educational strategy. During the hospitalization of a child in a pediatric intensive care unit, the perception of uncertainty in the parents is negatively modified, not only associated with the child's health status but also with ignorance about the environment and the management of the units of care. intensive care. Based on this need, this management project proposes the design of a care strategy that contributes to modulating the uncertainty of parents of children hospitalized in said unit. It is based on the model of Merle Mishel's theory of uncertainty, which provides tools from the assessment and subsequent modulation of uncertainty in disease processes. A personalized and individualized intervention is carried out with each of the participating parents where not only information about the context and general management of the unit is provided, but each one is listened to from their experience, identifying which are the most prevalent agents in the increase of uncertainty, being able to guide the intervention in solving doubts and reinforcing knowledge. As a result, visiting hours are identified as a common agent that generates uncertainty, since parents refer to wanting to be with their children all the time; the intervention is guided to clarify the need for isolation and control of visits derived from the treatments and well-being of the child; At the end of the intervention, the majority of parents report understanding the needs of visiting hours.
