%X This paper presents sustainable requirements and a value proposition associated with the composition of the package of milk UHT (Ultra-high temperature). The coextruded film used for UHT milk packaging is not easily recyclable and the final product of its separation or recycling attempt has no favourable characteristics for any other subsequent industrial process, which leads to discarding. In response to the sustainable requirements of disintegration, biodegradation and compostability, new materials are investigated searching for what they promise according to different environmental standards. Sustainable requirements and properties are still being researched with new materials. This research has contributed with the analyses of these requirements and offered three materials’ compositions to the creation of new plastics with a biodegradable look: PVOH, PLA and Cellulose. Current environmental improvements are difficult to achieve and maintain if sustainable packages are not preferred by customers, so it is necessary to review the value propositions offered so far to ensure the continuity of the process.
%X Este trabajo presenta requerimientos sostenibles y una propuesta de valor asociada a la composición del envase de leche UHT (Ultra-alta temperatura). El film coextruido utilizado para el envasado de leche UHT no es fácilmente reciclable y el producto final de su intento de separación o reciclaje no presenta características favorables para ningún otro proceso industrial posterior, lo que conduce al descarte. En respuesta a los requisitos sostenibles de desintegración, biodegradación y compostabilidad, se investigan nuevos materiales en busca de lo que prometen según diferentes estándares ambientales. Los requisitos y propiedades sostenibles aún se están investigando con nuevos materiales. Esta investigación ha contribuido con el análisis de estos requisitos y ha ofrecido composiciones de tres materiales para la creación de nuevos plásticos con aspecto biodegradable: PVOH, PLA y Celulosa. Las mejoras ambientales actuales son difíciles de lograr y mantener si los clientes no prefieren los envases sostenibles, por lo que es necesario revisar las propuestas de valor ofrecidas hasta el momento para asegurar la continuidad del proceso.
