%X Esta investigación presentalas características del lenguaje oral de los cadetes de policía en la Escuela “General Francisco de Paula Santander”en el contexto educativo y sus implicaciones en el aprendizaje. La metodología empleada fue mixta entre lo cualitativo y lo cuantitativo.La investigación parte de la constatación de la necesidad de repensar el lenguaje oral en las escuelas de formación policial a la luz de la naturaleza civil y humanista de la Policía Nacional. Los hallazgos centrales tienen que ver con el empleo de un estilo de lenguaje oral basado en los hechos y opiniones, un lenguaje confrontacional, así como un lenguaje emotivo y de connotación militar que tiene implicaciones en el aprendizaje de los educandos y en la forma como se forman y replican esos patrones de comunicación. Se concluye que la Policía necesita desarrollar una estrategia de transformación educativa a partir de una nueva lectura del lenguaje histórico que se emplea en las escuelas y la necesidad de construir un nuevo enfoque centrado en una comunicación más asertiva, cercana y civilista.
%X This research presents the characteristics of the oral language of the police cadets at the 
“General Santander” School in the educational context and its implications for learning. The 
methodology used was mixed between qualitative and quantitative. The investigation starts from 
the verification of the need to rethink oral language in police training schools in light of the civil 
and humanistic nature of the National Police. The central findings have to do with the use of an 
oral language style based on facts and opinions, a confrontational language, as well as an emotional 
language and of military connotation that has implications in the learning of students and in the 
way in which they are they form and replicate those communication patterns. It is concluded that 
the Police need to develop an educational transformation strategy based on a new reading of the 
historical language that is used in schools and the need to build a new approach focused on a more 
assertive, close and civil communication.
