%X Este artículo analiza hermenéuticamente la figura literaria del no-muerto presente en la literatura romántica inglesa –sobre todo en Frankenstein o El moderno Prometeo y Drácula– e intenta explicitar en qué medida responde, desde el mito, a una indagación existencial antropológica acerca del sentido de la vida y de la muerte, causante de la angustia, agudizada en la modernidad por la desaparición del ámbito cultural de un ideal capaz de responder al gran enigma que es el hombre.
%X The literary figure of no-death found in romantic English literature – particularly in Frankenstein: Or the Modern Prometheus and Dracula – is analyzed hermeneutically in this article. The author attempts to explain to what extent it responds, in the myth, to an anthropological existential inquiry into the meaning of life and death, which is at the root of the anguish intensified in the modern age by the disappearance of an ideal from the realm of culture that is able to respond to the great mystery that is man.
