abstract = {Necrotizing soft tissue infections are characterized
by their rapid progression to the superficial fascia.
The diagnostic approach is based on clinical and
paraclinical findings; however, it is difficult to
recognize the initial manifestations, due to their
similarities with other purulent or non-purulent soft
tissue infections. Early clinical suspicion and initiation
of timely and adequate treatment are directly associated
with a reduction in mortality rates in patients with
necrotizing infections. It is necessary to recognize
the pattern of this pathology and analyze the different
diagnostic tests available.},
abstract = {La infección necrosante de piel y tejidos blandos es
caracterizada por su rápida progresión hacia la fascia
superficial. La aproximación diagnóstica se basa en
los hallazgos clínicos y paraclínicos; sin embargo, es
difícil reconocer las manifestaciones clínicas iniciales,
debido a sus similitudes con otras infecciones de tejidos
blandos purulentas o no purulentas. Una sospecha
clínica temprana e inicio de tratamiento oportuno y
adecuado se asocia directamente con reducción en
las tasas de mortalidad en pacientes con infecciones
necrosantes. Siendo necesario reconocer el abordaje
de esta patología y analizar las diferentes pruebas
diagnósticas disponibles.},
