abstract = {The development of writing skills is recognized as a mandatory process for initial education and the foundation of all essential learning. Writing skills  are  crucial  to  children's  socialization  and  interaction  with  their  environment  as  they  grow.  The  development  of  writing  skills  has  been  linked to a complex set of key factors, but is not yet clear enough. In the context of 21st-century education, and to increase understanding of this phenomenon, a systematic literature review of 40 years of published studies on the subject was carried out. The results revealed how relevant the integration of gross and fine motor skills is, along with the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). The development of writing skills in game-based learning environments and curricular articulation of physical education and ICT-mediated writing in early childhood education are also significant factors to consider.},
