abstract = {La presente investigación pretendió analizar, desde la perspectiva de padres cuyos hijos están en edad escolar y matriculados en colegios públicos y privados, las consecuencias de la sobrecarga laboral en los procesos y prácticas de comunicación entre la familia y la escuela en Colombia. Para el cumplimiento de los objetivos se desarrolló una investigación de tipo cuantitativa - descriptiva, en la que, por medio la incorporación de tres escalas se elaboró un cuestionario 119 preguntas, y se aplicó a 110 integrantes de familias mayores de edad y de tres regiones de Colombia: Bogotá D.C, Pasto Nariño y San Andrés Islas, de los cuales 51 refirieron encontrarse en situación de sobre carga laboral. El principal hallazgo de la investigación fue que no existe una asociación entre las variables de sobrecarga laboral y comunicación familia – escuela. Otro hallazgo relevante del estudio es la asociación entre la sobre carga laboral con los temas de conciliación familia trabajo, representado en el tiempo que las familias dedican a las actividades laborales impidiendo la participación igualitaria en responsabilidades y actividades del hogar; en el cansancio cuando los padres llegan a casa del trabajo, el cual no les permite participar en responsabilidades o actividades familiares y al estrés del hogar, generando preocupación por la familia en el trabajo.},
abstract = {The present investigation tried to analyze, from the perspective of parents whose 
children are of school age and enrolled in public and private schools, the consequences of 
work overload in the processes and practices of communication between the family and the 
school in Colombia. For the fulfillment of the objectives, a quantitative-descriptive 
investigation was developed, in which, by means of the incorporation of three scales, a 
questionnaire was elaborated with 119 questions, and it was applied to 110 members of 
families of legal age and from three regions of Colombia: Bogotá D.C, Pasto Nariño and San 
Andrés Islands, of which 51 reported being in a situation of work overload. The main finding 
of the research was that there is no association between the variables of work overload and 
family-school communication. Another relevant finding of the study is the association 
between the workload overload and work-family reconciliation issues, represented in the 
time that families dedicate to work activities, preventing equal participation in 
responsibilities and household activities; in the fatigue when the parents come home from 
work, which does not allow them to participate in family responsibilities or activities, and in 
the stress of the home, generating concern for the family at work.},
