%X Considerando que la integración del alumnado extranjero aún constituye un reto para Chile, es conveniente presentar la situación actual de la educación intercultural en nuestro contexto, así como los elementos que son considerados clave para promover la integración del alumnado inmigrante.
Desde un enfoque intercultural, la integración pasa por la inclusión del diálogo y por el intercambio cultural y no solo por aceptar e incorporar a niños, niñas y jóvenes extranjeros en aulas chilenas.
%X The integration of foreign students is an ongoing challenge for Chile. Therefore, it is convenient to describe the current situation of intercultural schooling in the Chilean context and the elements that are considered crucial to promoting the integration of immigrant students.
From an intercultural standpoint, integration is more than a question of accepting and incorporating foreign children and young people into Chilean classrooms. It also implies the inclusion of dialogue and cultural exchange.
