%X Donde se unen el contemporáneo interés por el Islam y la filosofía de la religión se encuentra la literatura del escritor egipcio Naguib Mahfuz, premio Nobel. Su prolífica obra es una muestra de cómo la religión impregna la vida en el mundo árabe. A través de un relato breve, intentamos exponer la personal concepción que del Islam poseía Mahfuz: la de un sano realismo que lleva instintivamente más allá de cualquier fanatismo ideológico y religioso.
%X Egyptian Nobel prize Naguib Mahfuz’s literature is situated there where the contemporary interest for Islam and the philosophy of religion meet. His prolific work shows how religion permeates life in the Arab world. By the analysis of a short tale, we try to present Mahfuz’s own conception of Islam: that of a sound realism, which instinctively takes us beyond any kind of ideological or religious fanaticism.
